On the 22nd week, freight rates in the Azov-Black Sea region began to rise after almost two months of decreasing. Thus, contracts for a shipment of 3,000 tons of wheat from Azov to Marmara Sea ports are concluded at the level of USD 31 per ton. After the announcement of the election results in Turkey last Sunday, the grain market players had more confidence, so transactions began to be made more often. In addition, interest in Russian grain is also emerging in Greece, Egypt, Morocco and Israel.
It is also worth noting that the export tax on wheat has been decreasing for the eighth week in a row. Since May 31st, it amounts to 4,525.4 rubles against 4,644.4 rubles per ton a week earlier. The fee on barley has been reduced to 1,224.7 rubles, on corn – has increased to 2,753.6 rubles per ton. It is expected that in June the situation on the grain market will begin to stabilize and freight rates will continue to go up.
