In the 33rd week in the Azov-Black sea region there is a significant drop in freight rates. The price level is fixed at 52 dollars per ton for the shipment of 3000 tons of wheat from Azov to Marmara Sea ports. However, even with such a drop from last week’s level, there are still problems with new contracts. Low prices for Ukrainian grain mostly outbid Russian offers. Therefore, charterers expect the market to fall further so that freight rates allow them to compete in the grain market.

In the Caspian region, freight rates remain high this week. Cargo offers significantly exceed the number of open tonnage, which allows to maintain the level of freight at 62 dollars from Astrakhan to the northern ports of Iran.
