On the 40th week, freight rates continue to grow rapidly in Azov-Black Sea region. Thus the rate for shipment of 3000 tonnes of deadweight cargo from Azov to Marmara Sea ports reaches the level of USD 38 pmt. It should be noted that Turkish market is getting more and more revitalised, while there are more requests for Greece and Egypt. In addition, many traders expect the lifting of the ban on wheat imports in Turkey on 15th October, which may lead to even more active sales and higher freight rates. However there is no official news on the lifting or extension of the ban yet.
The export fee on Russian wheat exports from 2 October 2024 will be raised to 1,246 rubles against the current rate of 1,076.7 rubles per tonne. The tax on barley will amount to 190.8 rubles, while the fee on corn will be sharply increased from 292.7 rubles to 2,786.2 rubles.
