On the 24th week, freight rates in the Azov region continue to hold a record level for June. Transportation of 3000 mts of wheat from Azov to Marmara Sea ports remains on the level of USD 32 pmt. The demand for spot tonnage in the market is not decreasing, which allows to maintain a high level of freight rate.

Many shipowners prefer to ask for higher rates for their vessels, but not all charterers are willing to support this level and can’t pay mote than USD 32 pmt bss Marmara.

For end of June there is not a large amount of cargo, traders do not yet conclude deals on these dates, as there is no understanding of how the market will behave closer to the beginning of the new grain season.
