On the 20th week freight rates in the Azov-Black Sea region remain at USD 32 per tonne for a shipment of 3000 mts of wheat from Azov to Marmara Sea ports. After the end of May holidays in Russia grain market has become more active, the increase of sales to Turkey is fixed, which supports freight market and does not allow rates to continue falling.
At the same time, it should be noted that zero tax on coal export in early May did not affect the increase of shipments by short sea.
As for river shipments, many owners are considering primarily cargoes from river ports, but there are not a lot of sales from this region.
Tax rate on wheat exports from Russia has dropped to 3,170.7 rubles per tonne from May 15th, while export fee on barley and corn has remained zero.
