In Week 28, freight rates in the Azov–Black Sea region remained stable at USD 23 per tonne for the shipment of 3,000 tonnes of wheat from Azov to the Marmara Sea ports. Despite the official start of the new grain season, as expected by most market participants, activity in the coaster segment remains extremely limited. River shipments also continue to be scarce.
At the same time, effective from 8 July, Russia has reintroduced an export duty on wheat at RUB 370.1 per tonne, marking the first increase since the duty was reduced to zero on 22 April. Export duties on barley and corn remain at zero.
In the Baltic region, freight rates also remained unchanged from the previous week. Trading activity continues to be subdued.
