During Week 31, shipments from the Azov Sea region remained on hold. Charterers continue to seek alternative loading options at other ports; however, in most cases, such solutions remain difficult to implement and economically unviable. As a result, the conclusion of new export contracts remains limited. Part of the cargo flow, along with Russian-flagged vessels, has shifted to the Caspian region, contributing to higher freight rates in the region.
Russia’s export duty on wheat and barley will remain at zero, while the export duty on corn has been set at RUB 232.6 per tonne.
No significant changes have been observed in the Baltic coaster market. Cargo activity remains subdued, while the supply of open tonnage continues to increase. Most market participants expect a significant increase in cargo volumes with the start of the season.
