In Week 37, the Azov–Black Sea freight market remained quiet. An increasing number of shippers are opting to suspend their commercial activities at least until the end of the year or shift their focus towards the domestic market. The Caspian region continues to see increased interest from exporters.
The Baltic region experienced another active week, with volumes increasing on the back of higher demand for grain, coal, fertilizers and sulphur shipments from Baltic ports and Russian Baltic Sea ports. Freight rates on intra-Baltic routes increased by around EUR 1–2/tonne, while rates from Baltic ports to the ARAG/UK region rose by approximately EUR 2–3/tonne.
