On the 38th week, the trend of rapid growth of rates observed in the last two weeks in the Azov-Black Sea region has been replaced by a sharp decline. The rate for shipment of 3000 tons of wheat from Azov to Marmara Sea ports has already dropped to USD 63 per ton, which is USD 11 lower than the previous week. Most market players expect further freight drop in the next couple of weeks. The main reason is the decrease in the activity of grain trade with Turkey, where buyers are not ready to pay such a high price for Russian grain, which has grown significantly, primarily due to the cost of sea logistics. It is worth noting that despite the official stoppage of the grain trade, cheaper Ukrainian grain continues to be loaded in Danube ports, and the cost of freight is comparable to shipments from the Azov region. In addition, it should be remembered that the problem with the long wait for the Kerch Strait passage also remains unsolved.
At the same time, in the conditions of reduced trade activity, the tax rate for wheat export from Russia from September 20th is 4 528,7 rubles against 4 493,7 rubles a week earlier. The duty on barley decreased to 789,5 rubles from 931,7 rubles, on corn – increased to 2 616,4 rubles from 2 465,2 rubles per ton.
