On the 41st week, the Azov-Black Sea region is seeing a decline in freight rates following a sharp increase the last week. Contracts for a shipment of 3,000 tons of wheat from Azov to Marmara Sea ports are being concluded at USD 52 per ton. The stabilization of weather conditions in the region has led to an increase in the number of open fleet positions, while demand for grain in Turkey has slightly declined. Significant difficulties with tonnage are currently being experienced on Russian rivers, where there is a shortage of vessels, primarily for shipments to North Iranian ports.
The export rate for wheat from Russia will be 493.4 rubles per ton starting October 8th, compared to 617.7 rubles a week earlier. The rate for barley remains zero, while for corn it will decrease almost twice, to 348.9 rubles per ton.
