On the 43rd week, a smooth drop in rates continues in the Azov-Black Sea region. Thus, the cost of a shipment of 3,000 tons of wheat from Azov to Marmara Sea ports dropped to $46 per ton. There is still very low activity in the grain market, warehouses in Turkey remain overcrowded, which negatively affects demand. Charterers are trying to temporarily reorient their sales to other destinations, such as Egypt, Lebanon, Italy, Cyprus or Tunisia, but sales to these countries are also difficult due to the low prices offered by buyers.
As for export fees, wheat exports from Russia from October 25 will be subject to a tax of 5,297.7 rubles per ton against 5,734.7 rubles a week earlier, while the tax on barley will be zero, and the export fee on corn will drop to 2,218.1 rubles from 3,271.8 rubles per ton.
