On the 44th week, freight rates in the Azov-Black Sea region remain stable. Thus, contracts for a shipment of 3,000 tons of deadweight cargo from Azov to Marmara sea ports continue to be concluded at the level of USD 32 per ton. In the Turkish market, the demand for Russian grain remains quite low, most shipments still go to Eastern Mediterranean countries such as Egypt, Israel, Lebanon or Cyprus. It is worth noting that there is a shortage of tonnage for spot dates, which does not allow freight to drop much. A severe shortage of tonnage for the first weeks of November is also noted in the Caspian basin, which leads to a significant increase in rates in the region.
The fee on wheat exports from the Russian Federation has increased since October 30th, to 2,227.9 rubles per ton. The tax on barley rose significantly from 389.7 to 802 rubles per ton, while the export fee on corn increased slightly to 2,702.1 rubles.
