On the 49th week, the Azov–Black Sea region saw a decline in freight rates to USD 44 pmt for shipments of 3,000 tons of wheat from Azov to Marmara Sea ports. Demand in the Turkish grain market continues to weaken, while suppliers are in no hurry to adjust their purchase prices. At the same time, conditions in the Kerch Strait have improved, with waiting times for passage decreasing. It is worth noting that many shipowners are prioritizing longer voyages to avoid loading operations during the New Year holiday period.
As of December 3, Russia’s wheat export duty dropped sharply to 8.9 rubles per ton, compared with 232.3 rubles a week earlier. Export duties on barley and corn remained at zero.
