On the 51st week, the Azov-Black Sea region recorded a rather sharp decline in freight rates, which dropped to $62 per ton for a shipment of 3,000 tons of wheat from Azov to Marmara Sea ports. Despite the reduction of the tax on wheat exports to 4048.1 rubles per ton from December 20th and on corn exports to 794.4 rubles, contracts for these grains are concluded as rarely as last week. In addition, Turkish partners have also seen a strong decline in demand for most other nomenclatures of grain cargoes. This is primarily due to the attacks on vessels in the Red Sea, which jeopardized the re-export of grains or processed products from Turkey to Asian countries.
