On the 39th week, freight rates in the Azov-Black Sea region returned to active growth. Contracts for a shipment of 3,000 tons of wheat from Azov to Marmara Sea ports are being concluded at USD 46 per ton. The increase in rates is primarily due to a shortage of spot fleet caused by delays in the Kerch Strait last week. At the same time, demand for Russian grain in Turkey and the Mediterranean countries remains quite high.
The export rate for wheat from Russia will increase by 1.5 times from September 24th, reaching 655.6 rubles per ton. The rate for barley remained at zero, while for corn it increased almost twice up to 743.1 rubles per ton.
