On the 48th week, freight rates in the Azov-Black Sea region remain at USD 28 pmt for shipment of 3,000 tons of deadweight cargo from Azov to Marmara Sea ports. There is no increase in activity on the grain market: demand in both Turkey and Mediterranean Sea countries remains relatively low. Traders note large gaps between the selling price and the buyers’ offers. The number of available tonnage in the Azov Sea is increasing for the first half of December, and most market participants expect further decreases in freight rates.
The export duty on wheat from Russia will rise to 3,020.3 rubles per ton starting from November 27. The duty on barley will decrease to 1,166 rubles per ton, while the duty on corn will increase to 3,584.1 rub/t.
