The freight market of Azov-Black Sea region continues to show positive tendency on the 15th week of 2020. An additional factor in freight rates increasing on this week was the worsening of weather conditions in the Black Sea.
At 14th week, freight rates continue to rise in the Azov-Black Sea region. The freight level for shipment of 3000 mts of wheat from Azov to Marmara sea ports has reached the level of USD 21 PMT.
At 13th week, active trade continues in the Azov-Black Sea region and an increase in the number of grain shipments has led to an increase in freight rates. On the direction Azov-Marmara, shipment of 3,000 mts of wheat will cost USD 20 PMT.
A drop in the ruble exchange rate has positively affected the export of goods from Azov sea ports.
The 11th week of 2020 began with a sharp drop in the ruble exchange rate, which could positively affect the level of grain export from Russia and lead to its insignificant growth.
On the 10th week in Azov-Black sea region the freight rates remain on the same level and the price for shipment of 3000 mts of corn is USD 17 from Azov to Marmara sea ports.
A significant reduction of spot vessels, due to the fact that the majority of shipowners have fixes their vessels for long-distance voyages, has led to a slight increase in freight rates.
On the 8th week Azov-Black Sea region has shown increase of freight rates to the level of usd 16 per ton for transporting 3000 mts of wheat from Azov to the ports of Marmara Sea.
On the 7th week in the Azov sea region freight rates continue to fall and the price for shipment of 3000 mts of wheat from Azov to Marmara sea ports has reached already USD 17 PMT
